I'm Lauren McCloy, and I'm running for Okanogan Public Utility District (PUD) Commissioner to keep our power reliable, our bills affordable, and get more folks connected to high-speed internet.
Rural communities rely on access to affordable and reliable energy for everything from irrigation to home heating and cooling to emergency response. I’ve dedicated my career to helping people understand energy and utility issues. I know how to effectively advocate for the interests of those I serve, how to navigate government bureaucracy, how to listen to people with different perspectives than my own, and work with people on all sides of an issue to get things done.
As Commissioner, I would use these skills to advance the interests of Okanogan PUD customers so that our community can continue to have access to the affordable and reliable energy services we need to thrive.
My top priorities would be ensuring that the PUD is maintaining reliable energy services, connecting customers to high-speed internet service, and providing Okanogan county landowners, businesses, and households with the information and resources they need to keep their energy bills affordable.
I know from experience that working in public service requires humility, and a strong commitment to transparency and accountability. If elected, these are the values that I would bring to the job. I would be honored to earn your vote on November 5th, and to serve as your Okanogan PUD Commissioner.
